  1. HAPPY BIRTHDAY

  2. Try these pouches in various sizes. http://www.nativetech.org/clothing/pouch/p...ouch/index.html I make them from medicine bag size up to belt pouch size. Their fun to make and folks get a kick out of them. You might also try working with rawhide. You dont see much of that around and Dixie Gun Works sells a pattern package specificaly for rawhide articles. Match boxes, needle cases, small and large boxes, etc.... Have fun
  3. Hey ALexander and welcome. Check the marketing section of our forum. Not much info so far but some good advice. One thing to keep in mind is your market area. There are some very fine and long established leather industries in Europe and you will be competing aganist them. I would check out some of the web sites our forum is lnked too just to see what other folks here in the U.S are making and selling.Good luck.
  4. I made my own skiving knives out of old straight razors. Pick them up at flea markets for $8.00 to $24.00 each, depending on age, maker etc. I prefer the older ones from high carbon steel rather than the newer stainless. I just replace the handles with bone or antler.Just make sure you have an edge protector for it. Makes them also period correct when I'm at an 1814 event and want to do some leather work.
  5. Just checked the Hidecrafters site. I'll order the DVD tomorrow. Thanks for the quick response and the info.
  6. After reading the post and seeing the incredible detail of some of the leather feathers you folks have made or acquired, I think I would like to try my hand at this. Does anyone know where I can get the video that was mentioned?
  7. I realize this is very late but I just joined and hope you will find this intresting. I have made these pouches in the form of a medicine pouch for my brother, sister-in-law, grandson and myself. I have also enlarged the pattern and made my sister-in-law a belt pouch. http://www.nativetech.org/clothing/pouch/p...ouch/index.html Enjoy
