Work has sent me down to SA for the next 4 weeks (maybe more) and I was wondering if any groups gathers at one of the Tandy stores here? I'd like to meet a few of you and maybe pound some leather and learn something for ya'll, I did bring my tools with me. The hotel I'm staying at is on the north side of town but I could be talked into traveling a little bit on a weekends.

What do you all think?

Damon:

I am about 1 hour north of you in Austin. You have three Tandy stores, but I have no clue about gatherings. I can tell you that at the central Austin Store, the OFC gathers on Saturday morning to B/S, talk leather, make something and eventually get some lunch before breaking up after 1pm. You are more than welcome to join us. Occasionally, the OFC will gather on holidays like tomorrow, but I have been under the weather so I haven't been in the loop to know. Anyways, check out our leather guild website to see what classes our manager/partner is offerring for free on Saturday mornings.

If you can tolerate two children, you are more than welcome to come over for a home cooked meal here on a weekend. If they get on your last note, I can always lock them in the closet.

Seriously, you can always check out some pretty good saddle/leather/boot makers in surrounding SA area.

Thanks for the offer. Kids don't bother me, I have 3 and the youngest turned 8 on Friday. Let me take a rain check on that, depends on if I get stir crazy.

It looks like that the Mobud Tandy location is the closest to me so in a couple of days after I really settle in I might swing by there after work to check them out

Anytime. I was kidding about the kids. Just drop me a line if you change your mind. Good luck.

Give me a PM
