Leather Covered Box with Red Diamond Tuck Front

Recommended Posts

I needed a tool box that was nice enough to hold my Gomph Tools. Nice tools, so you have to have a nice box to put them in.

The box is covered 100% with leather. The out side has a nice 2/3 oz leather dyed to a light brown. I put a red diamond tuck leather on the from and placed a scalloped punched leather over the red diamond tuck and placed solid brass tacks in each of the tooled scallops .

The inside is covered bottom and sides with the same red diamond tuck . with a brass nail in each point of the diamond.

I made the tool shelves out of walnut and drilled them 3/4" and sanded and sealed the wood and set two shelves in the box to holds two sets of gomph creasers. This is a very nice box that is still not quite finished. I still need to make the letters for my name to go one the red diamond tuck and I need to make a concho that I will put on top of the box with a silver concho in the middle of the leather concho.

This is a fun box to make and i need to make a couple more to hold the rest of my Gomph tools.

Hope you enjoy the pictures . Gary
