  1. Why don't you make her a purse or a pair of shoes out of carrot and potatoe skins. That may be acceptable. Soon, you may not be allowed to eat meat either. Think about it. When you met her were you looking for a girlfriend or a menu? You both have hard choices to make and it should not only be you who has to give in. Good luck. John.
  2. This is where I get my fasteners. They carry just about everything I use. http://indexfasteners.com/ John.
  3. Ooh, nice one. A great opportunity to get out the stitching pony and practice stitching one handed! I have a place to do my leather work set up at my brothers cabinet shop and I used to get some flak from the workers about my odd looking tools and knives til I pointed out that all my cutting tools are designed to cut skin. A couple actually turned a funny shade of pale. John.
  4. I like to tune the local oldies station or plug in an mp3 player loaded with all my early bluegrass cd's. Either way the music is LOUD. More often then not my project ends up with tear stains when the bluegrass is playing. Gets me every time. John.
  5. Hello from So. Calif., This is a great forum filled with such nice people. I am looking forward to being a member here and developing my skills in leather working. I am a finish carpenter/ cabinetmaker by trade and work w/ leather as a hobby. Been 'discovering' the skills for abit over two years now and enjoy it very much. I seem to have more and more time for leather work with the economy the way it is. All for now. John.
