Strap End Punch Sizing On Swell Cover

Recommended Posts

Just wondering what size strap end punches some of you use when cutting the swell cover for nailing back under the hand hole. I've read some books that say 1/2" and others that say 3/4". And, 5/8 is right in between. What to you think looks most balanced with a brass escusion (spelling) pin?

I use 3/4 at he front and 1/2 at the back in the hand hole.

Depends on the thickness of ground seat and general contour of the handhole, etc. When in doubt, use the smaller and skive down around it. You can always cut out a little more but it's a whole lot harder to put some back
