  1. I saw a similar bracelet, and it was 2 pieces of leather with a metal band sandwiched in between them. It's glued together with burnished edges. For the dye, I don't know.
  2. Greg, check out my website tuffcase.com we may have what you need. Dan
  3. Don't know or care if it's good for leather, the table looks good if nothing else. Hurry I'm sure it will go quick. Craigslist Ad
  4. If you treat them right you can get thousands of impressions. The two things that will hurt them is hitting thin material too hard or dropping them. Using too much pressure can flatten them and dropping them can nick them.
  5. We sell them on our website at www.tuffcase.com/shop Dan
  6. A local shop has closed and I'm looking at both of these machines. Are these models any good, are there any known problems, and what is the largest thread each can use? I've searched the internet and the only thing I found is that the bobbin for the National is hard to find.
  7. The title says it all. I'm looking for your opinion on the best place to be buying my thread from.
  8. As long as you don't spend a bunch of money having a web presence can only help your business. An easy way to get online very easily and inexpensively is to list some items on etsy.com and make sure on every product page you list other items you make.
  9. How thick can a Consew 220 sew? I want it for wallets / book covers / thin collars.
  10. I have been selling on eBay since 2000 and lately my sales volume and selling price is the lowest it's ever been, and the fees are the highest they've ever been. I too describe in every listing other items I make and do get other business from it. After a disappointing December and January I have been using eBay for advertising only, a classified ad listing is 9.95 for a month, and is alot cheaper than what I was paying in fees when things did sell. They allow you to edit the ad as many times as you want during it's run. Dan
  11. The way I read it, it only applies to items for children under 12....how many items are you guys making for kids? I think a sticker applied that reads ' not for use by children under 12 ' may suffice.
  12. I'm sure it will cut it, you just may not be happy with the amount of charring at the cut. You can cut a hair oversize and sand off the charring. If you can adjust the PPI - pulses per inch - you should be able to tweak the settings to get acceptable results.
  13. I have a 25 watt CO2 laser and it marks veg tanned leather beautifully, the only downside is that some ash is left behind and if you don't blow it off with compressed air it will smudge when you finish or dye. Other tanned will mark but it's not as distinct a mark. I can also easily cut up to about 8 ounce leather with what I consider to be a nice edge, thicker leather I have to go slower which leaves more (unacceptable to me) charring on the edges.
