I am trying to beat the higher and higher prices on leather finish. Is anyone making their own leather cream type finish that works? If so would you share your formula?

I would think someone on here has some good recipes, hopefully they'll share. In the mean time I've been playing around with this formula, and have had some good results keeping it simple.

This also has some good things to consider.

The most common(?) homemade finish is 50/50 beeswax/neatsfoot oil, measured by weight.

Rub it on, melt it in with a heat gun (careful not to damage the leather), then buff it out.

This is what I use the most when finishing Veg tan.

Google British Museum Leather Conditioner...you should find a formula for it. This is what I use...works great.

If I get to my computer within the next couple of days I will post it...if I remember LOL---I'M old and sometimes forget things.

Here's a topic I started last year with a file of recipes I found on another site.

I like Obenauf heavy duty LP. I was created by firefighter for fire proofing. I use it after dying leather and when I am done. It work great for me. Great for belts. Body heat helps it work in more.

Should be able to buy it in a gallon. Last quite a while.
