  1. Hey everyone, I'm starting on my first belt and i had a few questions. The belt is a blank from tandy. It's 48" long. I've already grooved and diamond punched it. I'm gonna saddle stitch it. What end should I start on? Also should I try to stitch each side as one continues stitch? If so, how much extra thread should I have so I have enough? Thanks In advance for any help and tips.

  3. I'm also very new but I would maybe try a wet the leather then rub it with your hands.
  4. I was tryin to post from my phone and i have to go to the full site to post. I guess u can't post from the mobile site.
  5. I use olive oil and just reg veg oil. If I want it darker I'll dip it in oil instead of rubbing it with several coats. I have not noticed any smell.
  6. Ok so I'm sure it's been covered a thousand times but I can't figure it out. How do u post pics here?
  7. I made one of the punches that Dwight showed off and it looks like it's gonna work out well. I'd post a pic but I can't figure out how to yet.
  8. Actually after lookin at dwights punch, I might try and make one. It looks pretty easy. Dwight, The side that u strike, Is that just a raw edge or did u put something on it?
  9. Thanks everyone for the tips and help. At this point I'm gonna try the punch and chisel method. I am somewhat handy but I'm gonna save the custom made punch for another day. This started out as a hobby so I would like to keep costs down for a while besides for the fact that I havea newborn baby. Thanks again. I love this site b/c of all the great people and mass of knowledge.
  10. What punch should I use? This is my first somewhat nice lookin holster and I want the belt slots to look nice. I have a bunch of small pice that I can practice with. Once again thanks.
  11. Hey everyone, sorry if this has been posted already but I have a pancake holster that I want to cut belt loops into. Should I use one of the oblong punches from tandy or springfield? If so which one would you recommend? Thanks in advance.
