Looking for clear vinyl

Recommended Posts

Work has let off enough that I can start doing stuff now (ie: I have most of my weekends back) and I'm looking to make myself something similar to http://www.tandyleatherfactory.com/home/de...ure=Product_171 and I was wondering where all I should look to get some vinyl approx. 1.5-3 mil. thick. If I have to buy a few yards that's ok but I don't want to have to buy several yards of the stuff.

Thanks.

Damon

Check at a fabric store; they sell that sort of thing. Alternately, you might be able to use a clear vinyl shower curtain.

maybe check in the office and school supply area of walmart for a thick vinyl report cover or page protector

If your after small quantities maybe check out a local motor trimmer and see if they have some offcut vybac. This is the stuff used for boat or convertable car windows and outdoor cafe roll up blinds. It comes in various thicknesses. Alternatively get some office laminator sheets and run them through the laminator and then cut to size. Both are easy to sew through.

I get it at WalMart in the fabric section, or at fabric stores. It comes on big rolls, and you can buy as little or as much as you like.
