Bulletloops

Recommended Posts

Hey fellow crafters,

I've been working with leather for several years now and made and mended lots of stuff, yet there's still things I learn about everyday. A friend of mine wants a leather SASS belt with sewn on bulletloops for .38 , .45 and .45-70gov. bullets. Now this I never done and went to look in my books that I have, but for some reason I can't figure the complete belt ou....brainbleach.gifdeadsubject.gif . Is there an universal way to calculate the total length and amount of loops that I will need depending on the bullets.

the way I used to make these belt was easier, I find, I calculated the bullets/length of the beltn measured the distances, punched loopholes with a o-blong punch and started to weave the loops.

Do I have to work to same way for this job?

any explination of an experienced fellowcrafter would sure help.

cheers,

Gunter
