friction tape for fold-up portable work table

I use some fold-up portable work tables that have rather smooth polypropylene surfaces. Plastic project bins and tubs slide too much on these surfaces. I'm currently using duct tape on the surface to provide some friction to keep these tubs and bin more securely on top of the poly surface. The duct tape, though, doesn't stick too well to the poly surface. Is there another type of tape I should consider for this purpose?

I'd think some thin vinyl place mats would work well. Or perhaps some thin strips of that always super tacky stuff you can buy to keep your cell phone in one place on your dash board....whatever it's called.

Yep, I think you're talking about the rolls that are found in stores like WalMart, in the kitchen utensil aisle. It should be with the shelf liner rolls. I use it on my workbenches and just about everywhere else. Years ago you could only find it in RV stores.
