Recommended Posts

Well here is another one. I started this year building longbows. MY sister wanted me to make one for my brother inlaw. Well after he got it he needed a quiver and armguard. He liked my favorate so much . Well you get the rest of the story. So here is my new one and I really like it better. SO thanks Dave. Hope you enjoy the picks. Goldwing.

I really like the design and color!! Awesome Job!!!

Did you build the longbow from scratch or use some sort of kit? If it was a kit could you recommend a source as I have always wanted to make one!!

Yes I built the longbow from scratch. I just started doing them This is the forth one I have done. To get started I purchased a tape from Bringham projects. They have all you need to get you going. Also Stickbow.com and Tradegang, have very good information and bow buildalongs to help you get started and you can post questions. If you get started and have questions contact me and I will help you out however I can. Thanks for the nice comments Goldwing. OHIO

Great work! I love the coloring and the design. Those long, sweeping finger cuts were a very nice touch!

Archery is what got me started in leatherworking. I learned to shoot from someone who had an ankle quiver, and I had to have one of those things, so I made one. These days I do a lot more leather than archery, of course.

I totally agree with the others, color is so rich and beautiful. A good reminder of a useful but neglected tool in my shop..the tri-weave...might just be the missing piece to the guitarstrap I'm designing. Like Schno said, the fingercuts is a great touch!!

Love theese two pieces!!!
