Hi Paul, Highly appreciate your service to a fellow forum user!! Just rechecked and searched through my inbox, nothing from Jerry at Artisan, except an "automatic style" order confirmation. The order was also for several packages of needles, various types and sizes. Someone must have mixed their papers . Prefer to establish business relations with US dealers, more available products for leatherworkers and by far better prices, the needles was just a little test order to see how well the Artisan company serve international customers. Hope they take some action to get their banner straight again, in the mean time I will check out the links kindly posted here by other users. Thank you again for using your time on my issue Paul!! Thank you for your initiative Paul! I would like to believe that there is more to this too, but I am starting to lose faith. The emails are marked as sent with no returned error messages and the customs would notify me right away if there was a package for me on hold. Looking forward to see what happens next.. Hi, I am experiencing a case of bad customer service from the Artisan Sewing supplies company, being slightly baffled by this after reading just positive remarks about them here on the forum, I wonder if my case is an exception or just one of several? Ordered D,S and LR leather needles for my Juki 441 clone in their webshop on the 23rd of August, got the confirmation mail, but then inactivity and silence followed. The order is still marked as "new" and there is no response to my update inquiry emails. Should have given them a call probably, but being situated in Norway the phone is not a very economical way of communication. All tips as to were I can find alternative dealers, preferably with a webshop, is highly appreciated . On the same date as the Artisan order was made I ordered other items from various shops, and all the packages has arrived. Thank you for looking into my post! M

Hi Bob Thank you for your response. The needle regulating clamp you refer to is well adjusted already, the same goes for the movement of the shuttlecarrier ( Singer manual). I've also been experimenting with different footpressures, will try to give this an extra focus. Morten

Hi.. I have a clean, oiled and polished Singer 29K-58 standing in front of me, unwilling to serve the stitches I ask of it. A classical problem I realize after reading different threads here on the forum and elsewhere, but mine has a little twist to it. Cause I am able, most of the time and after tedious thread tension tweaking, to sew perfect non jumping stitches in a variety of leather thicknesses if, and only if, I make a "pre-seam" without thread, just making the holes in the leather, before I sew the actual seam. After studying the singer manuals, experimenting and correcting every cause of conflict my newbie mind can grasp, I now hope for some fresh thoughts on the matter. I realize that it is an old machine with less precision than modern ones, but could it be that part of the problem is the "relationship" between the shuttlecarrier and the shuttlehook? In my eyes a loose one. How much effect would a new shuttlecarrier-spring have for example? All suggestions to solve my problem are welcome! Thank you! P.s. I have tried different needle \ tread set-ups, but are now using #138 thread and size 22 needle (29x4 ntw)
