Iron Damaged Leather. Help?

Recommended Posts

Hi and happy holidays, everyone! I did a very bad thing tonight. I'm making a leather duffel bag for my husband for Christmas. I got a little over zealous while ironing on the interfacing and discolored the leather. There are darker spots in places. I've learned my lesson. I'm hoping someone will have some advice. Is there anything I can do? Thanks in advance!

I don't think the burn mark can be repaired. Hopefully you just discolored the leather and didn't shrink it, you may be able to dye darker and the dye may help, can you cut that out and glue another piece in with a backer on it.
