Ankle Boots Made From Cut Off Eelskin Cowboy Boots

Recommended Posts

I bought these boots on ebay to make boot purses out of the tops. I sent them to a friend of mine to cut the tops off. When I got them I realized they FIT me and it was too late to make them full length boots again, so I came up with this last night so I can wear them. The one that's finished looks really good in person. Pics just don't do it justice. Comments welcome. Cheryl

You could be on to something Cheryl. I was in Goodwill the other day looking for used ladies boots to showcase boot chains at motorcycle show and shines. They had lots of boots, but I was blown away by how much money they wanted for USED boots. I thought I would be buying them for maybe $10.00 Pr. Hah....more like $25-$30. Used men's boots $8.00-$10.00 ...what's up with the women's boots?....Sorry not trying to hijack...just figured since you were savaging a pair of boots, maybe you had a source.:>)

I know these 'helpful' organizations are getting out of hand. The one here goes online and finds out what the going price is for something and that's what they charge. I found these on ebay for I think 12.00. If you check out ebay you can find nice ones cheap. I DIDN'T buy a pair of lizard skin today and I'm still kicking myself. ust don't settle. You'll see a lot of them, Dan what's his face, etc on there for 150.00. ust keep looking. If you spent 15 minutes looking a day I'm sure you'd find some nice ones. Cheryl

Eccho I've been thinking about what you said and came up with a couple more ideas. One's craigslist and here we have a thing called freecycle and I just sent a 'wanted' post out to the members. Perhaps you have something like that in your area. Mine is a group on Yahoo and they have tons of groups. I hope this helps. Cheryl
