ok well I wasn't about to spend $86 ($85.95) on a flimsy, cheesy looking case from Field Notes so I decided to make one. here's a link to theirs. http://fieldnotesbrand.com/storage/leather/

here's a pic of the case that "inspired" the Field Notes one.

here's mine

most of the hide I have is good but I used a part from the lower area that had a spot on it and a scar. doesn't matter. I like it. mine fits three Field Notes books also. I could probably squeeze a fourth one into if I wanted to.

so my case took a few hours to make and I saved around $80 or so. hahaha I still need to work on burnishing the edges some more and then seal it.

I tried to post these as actual images but this forum software doesn't work right so it wouldn't let me do it. sorry.

I like it. I also should make something like that.

Thanks. It was fun to make the case. I'm having a hard time burnishing the sides because the leather is pretty soft there. I'll keep trying to get them smooth though.

I too made myself one, and my inspiration also came from Fieldnotesbrand.com.

Here is my version

I also made the wooden storage box they have on the site to store your used notebooks.

I made it out of some 5oz scraps I had lying around.
