Hello,
I am completely new to leatherworking. I need to make a hard sided briefcase, after this style (except the top will be flush with the bottom instead of overlapping). I am wondering if anyone can point me to a guide for making such a thing, or if anyone here has made on theirself. My main concern lies in making sure the thing comes out hard-sided. The book I have, The Leatherworker's Handbook by Valerie Michael, suggests backing the panels with "grey board." I don't know what this is and how to attach it. Should I glue, or stitch, or both?
Your help would be very much appreciated, and I will be sure to keep the forum appraised of my progress.
