Need Help Understanding The Law (Nj)

Recommended Posts

I've never dealt with anything like this before. Im a wrestling replica belt collector. In the belt hobby, belt enthusiasts love to have their plates taken off of the synthetic strap and have it put on real leather, and tooled to make it ring accurate, so since many cannot/do not want to do it themselves, they send it out to someone to do it for them. This is something id like to get into since i enjoy working with leather and collecting belts. My question is: before I start to offer my services to people, what laws do I need to know and comply with as far as business, taxes, etc. I do not want any trouble with the law. I want everything to be done legally. Noob needs guidance. Be easy lol

Your local city hall will have all of that info available. Have you looked to see if they have it on a website?

You will have to deal with them when you go to get your business license, so asking them directly is best.

You will also need to contact the state in regards to the franchise tax board, IE; resale card.
