Hello Everyone!

This will be my very first post on the site. I've been viewing, reading, learning from here for a while now, but I finally decided to share something. I've done all sorts of custom leather and just haven't posted on here yet, so let's give it a shot! Here is a sheath I made for a client tonight.. I used 6-7oz Veg Tan and I put sort of a twist on it and double loop laced the edges. Enjoy! Mike

Thank You All for the nice words! This makes me want to post more more MORE on here for everyone to see! :) As for the leather lace, this was ordered this way by my client.. He had another maker make one for a duplicate knife.. He told me this one will be his "Dress Up" sheath, while his other will be for work and outdoors. So, I guess he really liked it! I found that using such narrow lace on such a thick edge definitely has it's own kind of look.. lol As for the color, This is how the Eco Flo Antique Gel, in black comes out over the veg tan leather. It's only my second time using this black to give a dark brown look. I really like the way it lets the tan peek through for a brown look, while the black remains in the tooling and cuts. I finished this piece with Fiebing's leather sheen in the spray can because I didn't want to pull the color up by wiping the liquid finish on. Plus I find that the spray can finish gives an excellent coating for water resistance. You just have to be careful because it will be very glossy. Thanks again for the words of encouragement! Mike
