Neatsfoot Oil, Beeswax, And Cleanlac

Recommended Posts

When I'm finishing a belt, do I have this in the right order?

Condition with neatsfoot oil...

polish edges with wax....

apply cleanlac....

I'm just curious if the lacquer is ok to put over wax and oil. It sound good in theory, but I just thought I'd ask. I have other steps I do, but those ones in particular I get confused about.

Thanks for tolerating my millions of questions lately :-)

I always wax my edges last. The oil is fine because it penetrates into the leather and should have had plenty of time to soak in before applying the clear-lac.
