  1. Hi all, Recently i made a leather watch strap which made with cow hide and hand stiching. The problem is when i bend the strap there will be alot of wrinkles formed. Can any one share some advices on how to overcome this problem? Thank you very much.
  2. Hi all, For most of my project i seldom use or never use deglazer or acetone to rub tooling leather before applying dye. Recently i have decided to rub the leather using acetone to see what the effect it will be. After rubbing it with leather and leave it to dry then i dye the leather. But the effect is not what i expected. The problem is the leather didn't dye evenly there are some darker spot or darker line and the overall result is not as good as leather without being clean with acetone. Would it be the tooling leather matter or the matter of procedure to apply acetone on leather? Thank you.
  3. Hi King's X, I didn't buff my project after dye. Now my project coated with satin shene. I've tried to buff it but the residue dye doen't stick to the cloth. Will buffing acetone will do the work? Thanks. Best Regards, Mike Lo
  4. Morning, I have dyed my leather using eco-flo timber brown and then coating a satin shene on top of it. But the matter is i found out when coating satin shene on my leather it keep picking up the color even after many coats. For your information i let the leather dried few days and put under the sun. but the result is the same. Previously, all my leather project i use super shene but i'm swith to satin shene as it would leave non-glossy effect. Can anyone give me some advices. Best Regards, Mike Lo
  5. Hi everybody, I have encountered another problem these few weeks on my leather strap again. I have coated super shene on my dyed leather but the dye actually faded or discoloured and even the dye stick on my wrist. Can any body tell me how to solve the problem. Once again thank you.
  6. Hello everyone, I can't get deglazer at my home town, can anyone recommend other solution which can remove leather finish? Will lighter fluid or Ethanol do the same task? Thank you.
  7. Currently i have made watch strap and i would like to have the edge like many others. I have use different kind of edge dye like kote, gum tragacanth, beeswax but none of them (except beeswax has some effect) to produce rubber feel(hopefully i have describe it correctly). Recently i have seen Fiebing Edge Dye & Applicator, anyone has use it before. Can anyone kindly provide me some advices. Thanks.
  8. Hi everyone, I have made some watch straps and most of them - the lining using top-grain leather. Now i try to figuring out to use nubuck as lining. Can anyone give me some advice if i can somehow sand the top grain level of veg-tanned pigskin to nubuck? Must nubuck from chrome tanned? as i search in web some of the website said it is chrome tanned. Thanks.
