Dave Richardson Report post Posted March 4, 2015 I made a couple of these daily planner binders with good results..however this one is my first attempt at an inlay using the plug method i read about in a post on here. I added the cardboard stiffner over the plugs using weldwood contact cement..so far so good. I then used the weldwood to attach the liner and before I could do the lacing around the edges I noticed the liner was bunching up in the middle when closing the binder. I pulled the liner off thinking I had air bubbles and re glued, let it set overnight and as you can see from the wrinkles in the liner it bunched up in the middle again when i close it. grmnsplx Report post Posted March 4, 2015 I would try gluing the liner while the binder is half closed. If it's fully open and you glue it like that, then when you go to close the binder the liner which is on the inside of the curve is being compressed. Now, if you were to glue the liner while the binder is closed, the opposite would happen. if you open the binder, then the liner will be stretched taught, while the outside is compress and gets wrinkled up. Both, the liner have some give in terms of stretch and compression which is why I suggest trying something in-between. The result may still be undesirable though. you'll just have to try. Another approach is to not glue the middle bit at all.
