I've recently come into possession of a huge collection (about $2,000-$4,000) worth of metal (gold, silver, nickel finish) shoe trimmings which seem like they'd be perfect for any kind of leatherworking. There are buckles, brads, clasps, rhinestone trimmings, emblems, buttons, etc. This seemed like an appropriate place to get in touch with a community of folks who might have a use for such a thing.
