How Would I Go About Making This?

Recommended Posts

Hello all. I wanted to know how would i go about making the following belt bag from leather? I'm a beginner but have made lots of regular bags lately so, i got my craft down pretty good. I'm thinking this might be made from 5-6 oz leather...also, i'm going to attach belts on the left and right side with rivets ( the leather will be thicker) so i can adjust it to my waist. is there any type of forming or something i should do to make it not flare up on the sides that will rest against my back side? i dont need a step by step on this, just a very brief opinion. Im thinking of just getting the 5-6 oz leather and cutting it for the base of the belt, then sewing the bags to the base then getting the thicker belt and rivet it to the first piece so, there will be sort of 3 layers, if that makes sense. im not making exactly this but, something sort of similar. thanks in advanced !

I would make the belt part out of 3 pieces of 9/10: the left side (w/buckle), the right side (w/tongue), and the back (w/zippered money belt pouch).

The pouches and bags I would pre form from probably 6/7 shoulder leather, as well as the outside of the zippered money belt pouch.

If you look especially at the top of the belt along the back side on the right hand side, . . . that leather is a lot thicker than 4/5.

That front pocket on the right hand side, . . . it also looks plenty big enough for a Ruger LCP, . . . could be a double duty piece.

Anyway, . . . thanks for the pic, . . . good luck in what ever you do with it.

May God bless,

Dwight
