  1. I've been working with leather off and on for 30 years. I have never had this problem before. I carve out my design, then I stain it. When I go to paint with the acrylics the stain bleeds through the paint coming to the surface changing the color I want. Can anyone help me? No matter what I have done it continues to come through the paint.
  2. I bought what I thought was a high quality side of 8-9oz leather. After getting it I cut a belt then went to get it wet for carving, the leather didn't take the water as I have experienced in all my years. It only would stay wet for maybe 10 minutes then in was bone dry. Carving was the hardest I have ever experienced and looked like I had just learned to carve. Has anyone experienced this? Is there anything I can do with it? I have bought economy leathers that have carved much better than this. i have never had this happen before with any leather. Please advise....
