Decided last week that in order to get more business and get a faster turn around for buyers that I needed to bite the bullet and order enough to qualify for Ring's min. dealer order. I don't mind so much reinvesting once again in my business, it's more about not wanting to spend the money needlessly and have a bunch of duplicate guns.

I mainly make concealed carry holsters, shoulder rigs, pancakes, Avengers and the such. Most are formed and detailed so having two models of a weapon when all I need is one would be wasteful to me at this stage of my business.

Below is my list compiled by reading here and on the internet as well as consulting local dealers.

If you have the time to look it over and help me avoid any overlap or duplicate models as well as any models I have not included it would be Super-Duper- Incredible- Awesome helpful.

I plan on placing the order on Monday.

Thanks in advance,

George

The Sig 228 and 229 are most likely the same...

I would suggest adding the M&P Shield, Springfield XDs, Walther PPS, and Springfield Operator.

Also, you can use your Glock 17 to make holsters for the G19/23 and G26/27... just need to adjust the holster length.

Hope that helps ;)

The first order has to be $1000 was the response I got from them. Looks like you are there or close to it though. It used to be considerably less from what I understand. I just get them from RMB Custom Leather who is a member here.

Here is my .02 on the OWB holster game. Stick to guns that are too big for a pocket. Most of my sales are compacts or the 9mm's that are just slightly too big for most pockets. Like the LC9, Kahrs, and shield. Then the double stack compacts do well too; M&P, Glock, SR9, and XD. The Bersa .380, keltec P3at barely sell while the J frame's and Bodyguard .380 will occasionally sell. I just bought an LCR and hope it does well. Most people seem to just stuff them in a pocket holster.

Quick question, besides length, are the XD40 and XD 45 the same, width wise?

Not exactly in either width or slide height, BUT they can be close enough to work. I do a lot of OWB hybrids and if I change the way I build in my retention on the kydex I can use some of the 9mm to do .45's. I just did one for a G21 using a G19. I'm getting ready to build one for a Kahr TP45 using a Kahr CW9. With leather you can expand the stitch line a bit to achieve the same results. I always research the widths on the manufacturer's site then make my adjustments. If I can't get the measurement I want there, I get it from the customer or check with my local gun shop.

George, is a minimum order from Ring's qualified by amount of guns or value of the order?

Hey Jake, min. order to qualify is $1000, or about 28 handguns. Check out RMB's website, he has great prices and does free shipping on 12 or more blue guns. Haven't ordered yet but I'm thinking maybe save some up front money and get some from RMB. Have to think it over tonight.

From a new guy's perspective ......

I don't see a Glock 21 or 20 (Same frame size) on your list. The G21 is .45 ACP, and the G20 is 10mm. Both use the same size frame and are the same size slide. One blank in either the Glock 21 or Glock 20 with suffice for both models.

You have the G29 (10mm) covered with the G30 (45 ACP) for the compact Glock models.

Also, I might suggest getting a Smith & Wesson M&P Shield & a Springfield XDs blank. The S&W M&P Shield is the latest craze right now, and S&W actually released the blanks to holster makers prior to it's release so that they could catch up to release. The XDs is catching on, and is the compact / slim 45 ACp that Springfield offers.

Just thought I'd help broaden your horizons with a fresh perspective.

Jake, not sure, this the amount John gave me to qualify for dealer. There may be a distributor price, you'd have to ask him.

That list has a lot of good guns. No matter who everyone decides to order from you are welcome to use my best sellers list on my homepage, they are ranked from actual sales. If a Bluegun is a best seller chances are the holsters for them would be best sellers also. www.bluegunstore.com

Thanks to everyone that chimed in. Changed a couple at the request of a local shop I do a lot of business with. Added some that were recommended and dropped the smaller pocket guns.
