  1. Don, thank you so much for sharing this video. I punched holes and attached grommets for the first time today. It was terrible. Due to disabilities I just can not accomplish these things. I hopped on here to try and find a solution. So glad I found your post. Will be looking for an arbor press now. After removing the arbor, you drilled 2 holes. One for the locking handle and another one. What size is that one? Or does it just need to be large enough for the stamping tool? The pic you posted of the tension spring on the right is no longer there. Could you post another one? Thanks Amy
  2. Thanks Gump I was having a hard time finding another one like the techsew.
  3. Thanks Glenn and Constabulary. I'm new to industrial machines. I was wondering about feet for the Pfaff. Thanks Amy
  4. Hoping you all can help me out. There are 2 machines available. Not sure which would be better for leather work. Will be making leather bags, holsters, and dog collars. One is a Pfaff 545-H4. the other is a Consew 225. Both are in about the same condition and pricing. Any help is greatly appreciated!
  5. There is a Consew 225 sewing machine for sale locally. I've tried researching it. I can not find out the maximum thickness of leather you can sew with it. It is a walking foot. Anyone know anything about these machines? Thanks
  6. Hello hoping someone can help. Found some bags this weekend. They look like box style to me. It's a rectangle with the edges folded in, and the bottom folded in. You take two of them, overlap them and stitch together. I took some paper and figured it out. But would like to find a pattern. So many of the bigger tote style bags are like this right now. They don't look very difficult. That statement might just bite me in the butt. Any idea? I attached a pic of the bottom of a bag like this.
  7. I use Superior for quilting and love it. Good quality and they stand behind their product. Let us know how you like it.

Love the color of your bag. You can get cotton canvas at a Jo anns or hancock fabric. def prewas they shrink. I use either polyester or a poly cotton blend. I just make pockets in the lining with that fabric. Do you expect the inside to take an unusual beating? Did you use a sewing machine on your bag? if so what is the model and brand. I'm hunting a leather sewing machine. Like the way your stitching came out. I can find several machines for several thousand dollars. Can't afford that. Post what you end up doing with the lining. Looks like a good size bag.
  9. Does anyone have the Techsew 5100? Found it in the ads at the top of this page. Looks pretty good Does light, med, and heavy leather. Seems to have a good warranty. Pretty pricey. But I'd have a huge range of capabilities. Thoughts?
  10. Your attention to detail is amazing!
