Cell Phone Sleeve And Card Case

Recommended Posts

Here are the first and second pieces I have made. The cell phone sleeve is for my RAZR M with an Otterbox Defender case. The card case is finished natural with brown pig skin lining. Both are made from ~4 oz veg tan leather and white waxed thread.

While I'm not a fan of that style cell case or card case, your work looks pretty solid. The cell case looks like it fits like a glove and your stitching appears very uniform. I wish my first and second projects turned out that well, good job on both and welcome.

Nice work Bob!!! :)

A couple of questions...

How did you form the case? It looks wet molded, but did you use a bone folder or did you make a custom "press" from wood?

What dye did you use?

Beautiful work :)

Thanks. I wrapped the phone in cellophane and then worked the wet leather with my fingers and a cheap Tandy plastic bone folder. The dye is Tandy Cordovan, also the cheap stuff.
