Recommended Posts

I've just been watching the news and by the look of it Climate Warming hasn't hit Washington yet!

You can always send it to Vancouver for the Olympics as they need some more!

Ain't no flipping glaciers melting today. We haven't see the ground since the first of Dec, here in most of Montana. Those global climate change people crack me up.

Global warming won't be hitting Montana, it will be "hitting" your checkbook, instead!

Amen to that Hilly! Many of those folks on the Global Warming Bandwagon are aiming to cash in on it, and it's your cash they are after.

Global Warming and Glacial periods are cyclic. By our over industrializing and over use of fossil fuels such as oil and coal we hasten the natural cycles.

Iceages come in, give or take, 10,000 year cycles. In fact the last one ended 10,000 years ago. So it is going to get hotter before it gets much cooler.

That's good, because my brother-in-law called from Florida yesterday, where he said it was 40 degrees.

B)

On average, wintertime lows dip down to near 40 degrees Fahrenheit at Tallahassee in January to 65 °F (18 °C) in Key West while daytime highs range from 64 °F (18 °C) at Tallahassee to 77 °F (25 °C) at Miami. Predominant easterly winds across southern Florida keep temperates moderate during the winter, as the nearby Gulf Stream modifies cooler air moving in from the northeast and east. El Niño winters tend to be cooler due to increased cloud cover, but tend to have fewer freezes. Despite its warm, southern location, there have been freezes detrimental to citrus production in North and Central Florida's history in the years 1835, 1894-1895, 1899, 1917, 1934, 1940, 1957, 1962, 1977, 1981, 1983, 1985, 1986 and 1989. The record low temperature for Florida was −2 °F (−18.9 °C) at Tallahassee in 1899.

We are currently experiencing an El Niño Winter and as per the map I have supplied you can see that historically during same Florida seems to be colder and wetter than normal.

These global changes can fluctuate but we are on the downside of the moderate end of a Glacial Era and entering into a much warmer cycle. I know that we cannot get blood out of a stone but we must think of those who will follow us. I have nothing to gain from all this save seeing my two sons a bit more prepared. Mother nature is going to do what mother nature's going to do. However, one also does not dowse the flames or a raging bush or forest fire with gasoline. To use an old expression..."It's not nice to mess with Mother Nature." Hech I have been out of work for over 17 months and if I thought I could get you to throw money into my bank account because of this....I wouldn't. Thomas Payne once said,"Let me present the facts to you and the common sense of them convince you."
