  1. Thanks guys this will get me thinking in the right direction. Mark
  2. I have a friend that wants me to make him a crossdraw holster for his ParaOrdinances .45 All the crossdraw holsters I have looked at are Cowboy rigs Can someone give me a push in the right direction in making a conceal carry crossdraw holster? Mark
  3. I know this has probably been covered sometime in the past but I haven't found where. How can I sharpen my versa groover? Mark
  4. What is the best way to finish a row of hand stitches? I have been tying a square knot heating the knot slightly with a match then pulling the knot into the last stitch hole. How secure do you think this method is? Is there a better way? One problem I have had is getting the finishing knot to go all the way into the last hole. All thoughts appreciated. Mark
  5. Thanks for all the input. I ordered the saddle makers groover but I'll be returning it and getting a versa groove. I will probably just get store credit since there is no Tandy store here in Fairbanks and I can't try any of the tools out in person. Thanks again for the help. I'm pretty new to some of this so you''ll probably hear more from me in the future. Where can I find the versa groover? Mark

    edge tool?

I am making holsters using 8-9 oz. leather. What size of edge tool should I use and are the more expensive tools worth it. Mark
  7. So I just got a stitch groover from Tandy but I'm not happy with it. The problem may be that it just isn't sharp. It takes quite a bit of effort to get a groove and leaves a ragged edge when you get one. I tried to sharpen it with my Dremel but that didn't help. Probably poor sharpening technique. Is it worth buying new replacement blades or paying more for a better quality groover? I also would like to know how you groove the inside stiches of a holster?
