  1. you can get delrin in rod form a lot of places if you have a lathe shouldnt be hard to make
  2. Thank you for the replys i have that book and several others but they assume you are braiding all the way around and back to the starting point. The problem is if you are starting at one point and lacing around to a different ending point so the dont join and wanting the beginning and end to look good.
  3. I am doing a project with mexican round braid and i need some help. What i need to know is how to start and end the braid when the beginning and end are not in the same place. I need to start the braid on 1 side of the project and go around three sides and end on the opposite side. Any expert that can help i would greatly appreciate it.
  4. I am doing a project where i want to use a mexican basket weave but it is not a complete circumference so it starts at one point and ends at another can anyone show mw how to start and end it?
  5. i am getting the cocked and locked version but really didnt want to put wet learher against his colt to mold it. Also the 1911 is so popular i figure if it comes out well i may need ro do a few more and i might decide i want a colt myself one of thes days but i do like my ruger p85 for a carry. Thanks for the input also doing a 3 mag carry on the other side for balance it works well with my ruger and i dot need to tye it down it balances the weapon weight and i can use a double shoulder loop slip on with 2 inch elastic across the back and its easy on easy off and comforatable. Do you guys use any metal in the retainer for a thumb brake for quick open and draw? I was thinking of putting a slight curve in the thumb break to make it easy to flip and pull any input is appreciated. Thanks for the reply Monty
  6. Thank you for the info Randy i dont do much with holsters usually just do cue cases but a friend in my apa pool league begged so im giving it a try.
  7. Can anyone tell me the cheapest place to get a colt 1911 model 70 blue gun i need to make a shoulder carry for a friend.
  8. Mike i should probably preface that answer i just gave by saying this isnt an exact science. All internet communication is 2 way even downloads as evfey packet is verified and the published speeds of the providers are the maximumj not the actual if your wireless signal is weak you probably dont achieve the best possible speed. That said the you will get closer to the actual speed with a solid land line so it is possible that the difference in speed could be less than the 50% that the published speeds indicate i hope this helps. Monty
  9. Hi Mike that is about 1/2 your current speed Monty
  10. You can avoid the blueing by putting down a coat of red before the black.
  11. Just wanted to inject a big thank you to Steve at Leather Machine Co. the new Cobra 4 and the 29k60 are working great and the cobra stirch is awesome i couldnt be happier with the machines or with the excellent support from Steve.

I plan on getting around to posting a few of mine soon but have been really busy trying to get all things necesarry for the production runs ready.
  14. Maybe try sealing with acrylic or other sealer after dye and before paint. I'm no expert but just a suggestion
