  1. I tend to agree, and find myself using a Threepersons style more than anything else. The pattern above, however, is what got me in the holster business, and is what the majority of my customers want. It does make a nice field holster for use under a coat, or heavy shirt -- nothing to snag, yet nothing in the way of getting a good firm grip on the gun, either.
  2. This is my basic pattern for DA revovers (and the occasional SA as well). It includes a Hank Sloan-esque hammer shroud, and a tab to cover the rear sight.
  3. Thanks, Doc. I make my own patterns; lay the gun out on a manilla folder, trace the outline, and go from there. I can add or remove material from the pattern until it looks right, then transfer it to the leather. If the first one doesn't work out quite right, I scribble a few notes on the pattern, and modify it accordingly the next time around. The first black one above is my own design, but borrows heavily from the old Elmer Keith-inspired Hank Sloan design. The second black one is the classic Tom Threepersons/Lawrence 120 design. For me, it's THE holster for single actions.
  4. Here are a few I've shipped out recently. Not entirely happy with the dye on the first one, but other than that, I'm getting a little better all the time.
  5. My customer was thrilled with the stamp you made. Thanks again.
  6. This isn't the prettiest holster I've ever made, but I think the design could be cleaned up a little. It's the prototype of a design I'm considering offering -- sort of a Hank Sloan meets Askins Avenger.

    Old Tools

New guy here. Some time ago, a friend found out I was making a few holsters, and asked if I'd like to borrow his leather tools. I thought this group might appreciate a couple of pictures I snapped: And on the bottom of the chest:
