A Couple Of Recent Projects Completed.

Recommended Posts

The clutch purse was for a family friend after she saw my wife's purse. The finish is Neatsfoot oil and Neat-Lac. My wife pimped me out and I had to make this one. When I completed it, the wife sent me a bill for agent fees. What?

The checkbook and Business card case were 'testing' projects for finishes. It is a saddle tan gel antique. I will complete the interior. I haven't decided whether I will sew it or lace it.

Thanks for the opportunity to show them off.

It's all good Sam!! I especially like the clutch purse!!! Did you sew up the interior for it or buy ready made? Tell your Mrs.  10% she should be happy to have such a great craftsman for a better half and forget about the cut! LOL!

I appreciate all the comments. The clutch purse is an old Al Stohlman pattern, the checkbook came out of an issue or LCSJ mag and the business card case is actually a Tandy leather craftaid. Yea, I thought the same thing when I saw it.

I learned early on that I cannot build a decent interior like Big Papa Leather, so when I saw an interior that Hidepounder used a Chaylor Fennell on a ring binder, I called and purchased 5 of these clutch purses in different colors. I also bought a half a dozen of business card case interior from Chaylor-Fennell. I am getting ready to call Kevin (was waiting until he finalized his agreement) to look at a purse interior and 3 ring binder/portfolio interior. It cuts down so muc work and looks better than any thing I could think of building. I look at it this way, let for me to screw up especially with my lacking finishing techniques.

Let me know if anyone would like to make a clutch purse.....I can help you form all of my errors learned/experienced.

Later.

Very nice Sam! I was thinking it might have been an Aussie from Chaylor-Fennell. They do some top notch stuff and worth the price.
