    ALL THAT I CAN
  1. I did the same thing that Matt did by watching the video and taking the measurements(more than once of course). Everything I do is hand stitched. I have a 2 prong and 4 prong chisel that I use to make the holes and will typically get the lines right the first time. Just my choice to make the holster "by hand", no machines involved (not even for the edges).
  2. I stopped by a little shop that does gravemarkers. I told the guy at the desk who I was, what I was looking for, and what I was gonna use it for. The man walk me out back and asked "will this do"(as he pointed to a piece of granite that was 15"x20"x4")? I told the nice man yes. He told me that I could take it off of his hands for $25. So I reach into my pocket for my cash and low and behold no $5 bill, so I asked him if $30 would be ok, and of course he said yes. Unfortunatley this little place has no parking lot and is on a busy road, so the closest place I could park was about 100 yards away. Lets just say that with carrying an 85lb piece of stone, that distance, I think I got my exercise for the week. That's ok, I needed it(the exercise and stone) and it was worth it. Thanks alot for the tip mogwild.
  3. I'm planning on building a work station but just can't make up my mind on which of the two types to choose from. Could you guys provide some Pros & Cons of the two. Hopefully it will help me make my decision. I for got to mention that I have a 15"x20"x4" piece of granite that needs to either go on top of inside of this work station.
  4. Yes Sir, it is very nice. If you would have told me that it wasn't a kit I would have believed you.
  5. Is there anyone here who has tried to, or heard of, taking a few granite tiles a gluing them together with either epoxy or liquid nails to make your own stone for stamping (rather that buying a more expensive solid piece)? I know the tiles can be bonded together, but will they stay together after repeated use?
  6. I tried posting this somewhere else with no result: Hello there folks, I'm very new to leatherwork. So new that I only have a couple of custom works under my belt, one being for my father. He like my work so much that he brought me a new project. My father works for a custom home building company, and this company has several model homes that are fully decorated. In one of these homes there is a saddle that is about 13 years old and has never been used, other than for decoration. Unfortunately the decorator placed it on display in front of a window and has been sitting there since the day it was purchased, until about 3 days ago. Anyway, when he brought it to me he asked me to try and get it back to its original condition. The front half of this saddle is a chesnut color(from what I can tell) and the back half and fenders have turned a pale yellow and are REALLY dry. I would love to take on this project but I dont want to mess it up. So my question is, Where/ How do I start? Any advise would be very much appeciated. Thanks in advance.
