  1. Thanks, I made all the brass work on the helmet and made a new front plate for the leather to go over. I bought the lames and some of the buckles I purchased and filed up. The bronze belt pieces I purchased as well. Thanks Thornale, I understand it is not for everyone. The lacing I use for the lamellar I have used in the past and it holds up better than anything else I can find. I buy it from a yachting supplies shop. These lames are also over the top of 3mm leather and the lacing passes through both the lames and the leather. If it does get cut, and it hasn't after a year of steel fighting, SCA fighting, horse archery and jousting, than it is an easy fix. Some vid taken earlier in the year of what I had at the time in use.
  2. This is a fantasy harness with historical basis. As I use it for a horse show we do I needed it to be protective and functional. Pulled apart an old fender saddle I had and built it up using timber and fibreglass. Still need to make a flap for it to finish it. Helmet and armour.
  3. Hi all. My name is Rod. Stumbled across this place whilst searching for something. I started playing around with leather about this time last year. I made my first few tools but have now bought a heap more to make life a bit easier. This is my personal armour that I have been working on in between all the other stuff that needs doing.
