Finally finished this bag for a lady in New Zealand. All leather with embossed Alligator veg tanned handles. She wanted Angel Wings, A snake, Roses and Lily of the Valley flowers. The color is Fiebings Chocolate brown and light brown mixed 50/50, thinned 3:1 thinner to dye and sprayed thru a paint gun, 8 light coats. Learned a lot on this one.

I really like the way the alligator straps contrast against the floral tooling. Excellent!

Very classy looking both inside and out. What did you use for the lining? The interior really elevates and refines what is already an outstanding piece of work!

Beautiful carving and the addition of all wings etc... are done really well, great placement.

When you say you used a paint gun do you mean the dye was airbrushed? and if so is that the reason you thinned your dyes down, so you could layer the colour? (sorry I know absolutely nothing about applying dyes with an airbrush/gun)

Thanks

Shaun

Thanks. I use a gravity fed automotive paint gun. I like to spray 8-10 coats, so thinning keeps it from getting to dark. You can keep spraying until you get what you want. I also spray the Wyo-Sheen for a blocker when Antique Finishing. Thanks Tim
