  4. Hello everyone, I`m trying to make a holster for my Ruger SP95, and having problems with the pattern, I saw, not long ago a post by someone here about making a pattern for a pistol, with step by step pictures, but I can`t find it again, and stupid me, did not save it or printed it. If someone knows what I`m talking about please post the link? I`m going crazy looking for it. Thanks for your help. Latter. Louie.
  5. Hi everyone, I live in Platte City, just out of K C M O, does anyone knows of any suppliers in KC MO besides Tandy? I would like to see what other places have to offer in regards of prices and merchandise. Thanks. Latter. Louie.
  6. Thanks guys, you`ve been very helpful, one other thing I forgot to mention (ask), I have a big piece of soft leather that`ll be great to use for lining, the only thing is that it`s very meaty, curly or rough on the back, I don`t really know right term to use, how do I make it smooth, so that it`ll be ready and easy to glue in order to use as lining? I would like to remove all that stuff. Again thanks for all your help. Thanks. Latter. Louie.
  7. Hello again guys, Ok, like I mentioned before I`m new to all this, so I want to know, when you mention that you you use leather # 4 or 5 or 7, is that weigh or thickness ( ounces or Inches ) . Also, can I improvise with some household items to dye leather? just in case I run out of some specific color? Thanks for all your help. Latter. Louie.
  8. I have to make a correctiopn to my last post, it was Ambassador who gave me the idea of looking into Rifle Slings, Sheaths, etc, Thanks a lot Ambassador. Latter. Louie.
  9. Thanks guys, I went to Fl. on vacation with my wife (Universal Orlando, din`t like, Disney 100/00 better) and didn`t have time to look around for anything, but I did what Mike D said, looked into Rifle Slings, Holsters, How to kill a lion, ect, ect and found a lot of info and ideas. Thanks again. You make a newcomer feel welcome. Latter. Louie
  10. Thank you guys, I`ll have to try that method with the paper, and see how it comes out. I`ll still keep on looking on the internet, see what happens. I`m leaving tomorrow with my wife to Fl. to visit fam. I`ll keep my eyes open over there and see what I can find. Thanks again everyone. Latter. Louie.
  11. Hello, My name is Louie and I`m new to the forum and leather, I had an accident at work and can`t work anymore, so I decided to give leather a try, I used to make little things when I was young, like knife sheaths and bags for loose change and bracelets. I would like to start by making a holster for my Ruger SP 9, but I have no idea how or where to start. Can anyone help me with a pattern or any ideas? what ever I make will have to be hand sewn, since I don`t have any other way, besides, the more I learn, the better. Thanks for any help. Latter, Louie.
