Leather Burnishing Questions

Recommended Posts

Hey all!

Had some questions about burnishing/dyeing belt edges. Here goes!

1) I have a cocobolo dremel burnisher, and have read that Bob Park uses a piece of canvas attached to his burnishing wheel. What would be the best way to attach some of this to mine to allow for an even wrap? I have heavy canvas patches from Sprinfield. He also states that he saturates that canvas with saddle soap. Im assuming just rub it into the canvas once its attached correct?

2) Regarding edgers, I currently am using a keen edge beveler. While it cuts nicely, I notice the edges are somewhat triangular, and Id like perfectly round edges. Anyone recommend a different type of edger to achieve this?

Thanks all!
