Used the Stohlman books and my other saddles here on the place to make sure I was doing it right. May be time to go to saddle building school so I can really see what I honked up, besides the things I already know about. rdl123 Report post Posted February 24, 2015 Bill, Yes, it sure is enjoyable - I don't consider saddle making 'fun' like I do riding colts or roping but it is very satisfying! If you do not have time in your schedule to attend an actual school I would highly recommend Dale Harwood & Jeremiah Watts saddle making DVD's - I find them very helpful - I'm sure they don't replace hands on, one-on-one teaching but for someone like me who can't get away from my real job they sure are handy.
