  1. happy birthday..Harma..

  2. Thanks very much. Will try to get my hands on some of that stuff and start experimenting. I'm not entirely sure the website ships oversea, if not, I should be able to get it around here as well somewhere. Thanks again, Harma P.S. lol at Pete. Did I make an error? Realise that English is not my first language, wouldn't be the first time I'd write or say something unintentionally funny because of it.
  3. Great looking roses, never tried something like that, could you please send me the info as well so I can go try? Will send you a pm with email adress. Johanna, Thanks for the description. I've never actually used warm water for molding. Is that degrees celsius or farhenheit in the description? (I'm asuming fahrenheit, but just checking). Harma
  4. That is absolutely gorgeous! Not exactly my style, however truly beautiful. Nice airbrushing and lots of detail, looking really good and must have taken you loads of time. I've also taken a look at your deviant art site and love that blue corset top, really screams to be worn, have you seen it be worn yet? Also love the marble effect, am very curious how you did that and the design is very elegant. Makes me want to shape up. You are extremely talented and inspiring. Harma
  5. Hi, Great looking mask you got there. I'm wondering how you stiffen the leather and still have the colours come out so nicely. I've been dabbling a bit with mask making and tried to harden them with wax, however that changes the colours quite a bit. When I try thicker leather however I find it a problem to mold all the shapes into the mask that I want. Do you have some suggestions for me to toy around with? Best regards, Harma
  6. Thanks for the warm welcome. I can always use hints and tips as there is probably loads of stuff out there I haven't heard of or do not know how to do and it is always great to see your work improving afterwards (like the discovery of how to create neatly rounded edges). I LRP in various systems across the Netherlands and the UK, mostly medieval and/or fantasy-based (like VA, CP, LoD), but also some modern-day and varying horror themes set in various centuries. Best regards, Harma
  7. Hi all, I know this is not exactly leatherworking, however I often come across working with fur as well and am very curious how to dye it to create patterns and such. So far I haven't found the right type of dye yet (though I only did try leather dye). What I'm also curious about is with what the leather beneath the fur can be coloured with as the regular dye I use doesn't work, which probably has to do with the way the hides have been treated. At times I'd like to darken the edges where I cut the fur so you won't see the white of the hide beneath it as much. I generally use penetrating dye's from Fiebing, Grison and something nameless. Best regards, Harma
  8. Hi all, I'm Harma and just signed up today after googling some stuff. Several years ago I picked up leatherworking as a hobby after meeting my (now) fiancee, who taught me the basics and we have been happily working away afterwards, combining projects and trying new stuff. Most of this is self-taught with the exception of one leathercrafting course taken by my bf which got the whole thing started. My main interest lies with armour and making functional stuff, not to stop a sword, but functional in the sense of being able to run around in it as I'm an addict to LRP. Next to armour there are all sorts of other projects like bags, mobile phone cases and some clothing. Notes of interest might be wax-hardening leather, working with metal bits and also doing glow in the dark stuff. Below I'm going to try and implement some pictures of stuff made in the past, these are projects for my own use as well as custom orders. I'm hoping to learn and share here in the future. Best regards, Harma
