  1. Very good job, I have friend that wants me to make one. I have always put a hole in the plug, for dirt and water to drain.
  2. Hidepounder You are right on the process, I have used that process on Belts, Holsters and boots. Dan
  3. My son did these in the shop. As you can see we are from the NW.
  4. This is the first time I stitched this thick of leather with my Randle Cambell. I'm pleased with the result. It could have been worse. Dan
  5. C23 Thanks for the complement, was trying to make it look old and used. This was my 2ed holster of this type working on the left hand at present. The toe cap was the easy part, its maching the short plug up. To burnish the edges when i do, i use saddle or Ivory soap and heavy canvas clothe. Rub the heck out of it also dampen it first. You get nice clean smooth edge. Dan Blevins
  6. Holster is for a 5 1/2" single action, should look like the hand of God.
  7. Holster is for a 5 1/2" single action, should look like the hand of God.
  8. In my shop I found a bottle os Sodium Sulfite. I think it was for cleansing leather. The jar of Oxalic Acid I know was for cleaning.
  9. Neats foot oil with dark brown oil dye, after a dip in black water tank (rust tank). I want them to look old I think they do.
  10. The holster on left is F.O.Baird pattern, right is Will Ghormley pattern. Both are good patterns, tooling takes some practice as you can see.
  11. Great job I like the contrast of color, basket weave and back ground stamp. You did a good.
