wouldn't surprise me if it's one of those "secrets" no one wants to divulge.

i've asked in other places before and no one would cough up their sources.....i know they're available on ebay, but those are all (all the ones i've seen) cheap asian crappy buckles so i won't buy them because i don't want to put a cheap, imported, crap buckle on any watchband i make.

Why get hung up on whether it is made in America? Go to Alibaba, perhaps? You can buy cheap crap from Asia, or you can buy nice stuff made in Asia. You'd probably be surprised how many of these things are made there; and good quality too.

Why get hung up on whether it is made in America?

1. because almost everything i've seen made in asia is crap.

2. because i choose to support the UNITED STATES economy instead of that of some other country that may or may not hate us and hope for our ultimate demise.

Finding regular belt buckles made in the USA has proven next to impossible to me....and I have tried soooooo hard to make sure everything I have tool and supply wise is US made. Watch buckles...ouch.

A member here that makes watch straps listed these suppliers in a post some time ago. Esslinger, Vintasso, and Otto Frei. There was one more but I am sorry I didn't book mark it. Maybe use the search feature and you can track down the other one.

well that sucks. looks like there is a market there if anyone were to have the motivation to fill it.....

might try looking around on watchuseek.com and see if anyone has any sources there. i'd read threads on there about buckles previously without much info given, but that was some time ago.

i saw these deployant clasps that look really nice...

http://www.mywatchmaker.net/deployantclasp.htm

but the website is rather silent on where they're made.
