getting started

Recommended Posts

Hi

I am new to the forum and leather working. I want to learn to make my own cowboy gear for mounted and cowboy action shooting.

I started a pair of cuffs using the Old West Collection pattern by Will Ghormley. I am looking for ideas on how to add some type of simple design to them. Right now they are plain with a stitch groove around the edge. They will lace together at the back and buckle at the front.

Thanks for any help.

Hi and welcome you can use buckles which were used first in the 1880s and in the 1890s they started to also use snaps on there cuffs you can use any desighn you like starting from a simple stamped border to a roled border edge ill post a couple of pics of original cuffs to give you a few ideas

Don

Thanks for the pictures. I made a few basic stamps and was thinking about trying them out, I guess now may be a good time.

Thanks again
