Little Owl

Hey there everybody, I'm planning on making a leather corset and was looking for some advice on what weight leather to use and also I have no idea what to do with the flesh side, do I line it? Or is there a special finish I should use? It will be worn over clothing but would still like the back to be protected. Any other advice you lovely people have would also be appreciated!
