Alright, so we're stuck. We need to dye a wallet red and black but we're having a hell of a time with the red. The Fiebing's Red is more of a deep magenta then red even with numerous coats. We were hoping for something a little 'brighter' and a little less pink...

HELP!!

The new EcoFlo line at Tandy has a cranberry that I'm totally in love with. There are some others in the red shade/tint that I like too.

My money would without a doubt be on Angelus red Spirit dye...Real, true red color no pink at all. The picture at the their website is nothing like the real deal.

You know, you can mix those colors to adjust the tint more to your liking. If it looks too purple (magenta is a purplish-red color), offset the blue with a little yellow to make it more of a true red. This works with any brand of dye.

I noticed the same. I also have yellow but Ive not tried to mix them yet. To mix, do I apply the red first, wait for it to dry and then apply the yellow dye?

You certainly can do it that way, but I find it easier just to mix the colors before applying them. And be sure to test it on a piece of scrap first!
