Here's some really cool gator that Springfield has. It's not quite croc, but it's pretty highly embossed. You might give them a call to see if they have anything on hand that's closer to croc.

thanks guys, I am in Spain, so is a bit far to order from springfield, I will try and find something over here. Thing is that I only wanted to learn to make it so I wouldnt need to buy a whole hide

Thanks again tree reaper. Yes there is a Tandy here in Spain, I may try, but for now I think I will try to tool it up. I´ve been doing leather for a while but just started learning carving, and is not eassy. There is a tecnique with something called embossing powder. Do you or anyone know about it?

I have used embossing powder when doing stamping on cardstock. You use a clear ink on your stamp, stamp on the card stock, pour embossing powder on top, shake off excess. The powder sticks to the ink you have stamped and then you heat with a heat gun. This creates a raised image on your cardstock.
