  4. Thanks Garry I will look them up on the Internet, Couldnt find out locally as there are not any proper saddlers around where I live any more so cant get local knowledge. Ian
  5. Its called a flah band and is used on horse that like to open their mouths and get there tongues over the bit or horse that cross their jaws . Ian Nice work Lorrso that Sedgwick leather is reaaly top notch. Dont machine stich I prefer and stictched leather wont use machine stitched bridles as the hand stitch is much superior. just my opinion. Ian
  6. Thats a very nice headcollar I particularly like the padding on the nose and cheek pieces. Also the brass hardware looks much nicer than the the stainless steel ones. Where did you get the hardware from as i have only been able to locate stainless steel for my bridlework. Ian
  7. Hi just like to show you my first attempt at moulding a leather case. This I made for my new mobile phone. It is made frome 1mm kip. Allthough there are many areas for improvement I'am quiet pleased with my first attempt. Suggestions and comments on how to improve always welcome. , , . Ian.

  9. Hi jsut like to show my satchel come work bag that I made for myself. Iam pleased with this first time effort of making such a large item. and it was a great learning experience. now i have done one i will be doing some similar got some saddlebags to make for my horse and motorcycle. Bag was made from 3.2 mm dyed through veg tan shoulder. Which I bought mail order from Le Prevo. Next time I will be wanting a better qualitey hide.   11. Hi all, Iam making myself a work bag out of 3.5mm thick black died through veg tan. After attatching pockets etc Iam ready to put the bag together. Question is should I skive the edges that are to be hand sewn to half thicknes before sewing together. Thanx for any advice as this is my first large bag project. Ian

    Veg tan in the UK

    Hi Raven, If you try this site http://www.awmidgley.co.uk/ you might find what you are looking for. Had a sample of 2.8mm russet veg tan from them and it was top quality.
