  1. Hey there Snap, I was just wondering whatever happened to the whole rollersnap thing, Ingenious. I wpuld really love some info on them, Thanks Bryan

  2. No problem, Pete. I will PM the address info. Thanks, Ryan
  3. Hi Pete! The rollersnap has a loop that a strap goes through- it can then be sewn or left open ended and the strap fed through a slide. I have attached two pictures- they probably explain better than I do. You can see the rollers in the main body of the snap- the hasp can be secured between any two- so there are 6 positions of adjustment. Ryan
  4. Hi everyone- we had a post on here awhile back regarding our RollerSnaps- a closure system we were working on that features adjustablity and tenacious holding combined with incredible ease of use. We just wanted to update and let everyone know they are now available in the forum marketplace and we're offering a significant discount to members as a way of saying thanks for all of the feedback, support, and encouragement everyone here provided. I have attached a few picture to show off a production version customized and installed on an ID wallet. Best, Ryan
  5. Greetings! We have decided to officially kick off the RollerSnap Revolution by offering a significant discount to leatherworker.net members- our way of saying thanks for the feedback, encouragement, and support. Our normal price for a quantity of 5k runs around $2.25 per set. What we have done is allocate 5k sets for forum members so you can enjoy the same price- $2.25 per set. No minimum purchase. Even if you just want to purchase one set- same price- $2.25. One set = RollerSnap, hasp, and hasp washer. Color availability: Polished nickel set with Polished nickel RollerSnap and polished nickel hasp. Bi-tone set with brass/gold RollerSnap and polished nickel hasp. Bi-tone set with matte nickel RollerSnap and polished nickel hasp. The bi-tone sets look nice as all RollerSnaps have zinc and clear (silver) bottom plates and aluminum rollers. Blank top plates are available in 2024 aluminum and 260 cartridge brass with adhesive back. Cost is $0.75 per plate. We are currently working with an engraving/photo anodizing company to offer top plates with your artwork, logo, etc. Once the tooling is finished and proven we will update with details. Also remember that there is no actual need to use our top plates. You can make your own out of leather, wood, plastic, whatever floats your boat. Top plate cavity on this model is fairly shallow- about .020-.025 inches deep. I can provide exact dimensions in .pdf, .dxf, or .stl format if need them. Payment and shipping details: Payment option at this time is through PayPal. Per forum rules I can't post the email for PayPal here so PM with your order requirement and I will respond with an order confirmation, your total, and the email address for PayPal. Shipping will be via USPS flat rate envelope or box: $4.95 anywhere in the U.S. The flat rate box should be able to hold a few hundred sets if not more. We're usually pretty quick with shipping and will always let you know if for some reason there is a delay. If you live outside the U.S. and are interested let me know and I will get you a shipping quote. Best regards, Ryan Brown RollerSnap R&D
  6. Allen, I know exactly how you feel! I am still trying to find time to fit a servo motor to our sewing machine so I have some chance of controling it, rather than screaming in terror. This sight is a huge resource and the knowledge and craftsmanship of the people on here is just incredible. Enjoy, and if you ever get to the point you want some samples just drop a line. Have a great weekend, Ryan
  7. Thanks, David. We think that top cavity for customization is pretty much limitless as far as what you can do with it- we can provide metal plates such as brass, stainless, aluminum, engraved by a number of methods. Wood, leather, stone- all would work as well. We went this customizable route to maximize our tooling since it allows for large production volume while allowing an incredible variety of individual customization. We have several different sizes, materials and mounting methods in the developement pipeline. We're focused at the moment on getting out of the gate with our first product but once we do so you can expect more to follow soon thereafter. Best, Ryan
  8. Hi Allen! Production units should be available towards the end of this year or at the latest first thing next year. My fingers are crossed for November but that will be pushing it. In the meantime I am more than happy to send you some pre-production samples. Functionally perfect but a bit heavier and not as polished (literally and figuratively) aesthetic standpoint. If you're interested in samples drop me a PM with your mailing address. Best, Ryan AKA:Snap
  9. Hi Bree! Sent some samples out to you Tuesday. Please remember that the samples I have on hand to send out are "pre-production" and while they work perfectly, they are not perfect from an aesthetic standpoint. Functionally, they are great, and should provide an opportunity for you to see if they are suitable for the work you do. Production units recently approved look incredible and are a full 1/3 lighter in weight while maintaining the same great performance and ease of use. Thanks for your interest! Snap
  10. Hi everyone! Sorry to revive an old thread but... I am curious to see if anyone that I sent samples to has had a chance to use them and if so, what did you think? I love feedback! Good or bad, if you got, give it! On another note, we have received our latest batch of samples from our new manufacturer and I was blown away by how great they looked, performed, and how noticeable the weight reduction was. We approved a production run of 15,000 sets. RollerSnaps in polished nickel, matte nickel, and polished brass will be available first quarter 2009. Probably sooner but we're saying first quarter 2009 for some wiggle room. Looking forward to any and all feedback from those who have had a chance to put those samples to use! Best, Snap
  11. Hi Tom! The production versions are approx 1/3 lighter- it makes a big difference. As for the prongs- our research indicated a strong preference to prongs over screw type mounting. We have yet to have a failure of the prongs due to breakage and have literally hundreds of thousands of cycles on our test pieces. That being said, we are always looking for ways to improve and would like to hear your suggestions for an improved/preferred mounting method. Ryan

I ordered the servo yesterday! Thanks to everyone here for the suggestions- this board really rocks. RYan
  13. Samples are on the way for all who requested them! We (me and my co-workers) are interested in any and all feedback on these things regarding form, fit, function, pricing, etc. And we actually listen to what you have to say. On another note- I ordered a servo motor for my Juki yesterday! WOOHOO! I'm hoping it allows me to dial down the speed, and therefore the terror. Peace, Ryan
