I agree with the "Birds Eye" comment. Not often someone can nail that. Great job.

Those tools for sale. I would be interested because my tools can not do this. LOL :))

Wow Bobocat! :You_Rock_Emoticon:

Amazing. I looked at it very closely and no flaws! I could never do any tooling that cleanly. Maybe in 20 years when I'm in the retirement home if my hands don't shake too bad. Of course, by then, I won't be able to see it if I do make a flaw.

Very nice looking work. Good to see the variety of work on this site and this is a great example of this.

Seems like when people post pictures of really great carving like this, someone always threatens to sell thier tools and give up. I hope they are joking. Instead, I hope that they will sit down and study work like this and see how it was done. This is a great picture to study, it's large enough and clear enough to really see the detail. I've been studying it for the last couple days, just like I do all of Bobocat's work. I just have to keep going back to it to see how all the little details were done.

One thing on this carving that I really like is the partially opened flower on the bottom left side. I would have normally used a pear shader in top portion of the petals, just like on the rest of the flowers. I really like how it was used here on the bottom portion of the flower where it wraps around the bud. It really adds a lot of depth to this flower. I am going to have to remember that.

Thanks Bobocat for continuing to send pictures of your work. No matter what you are carving, it always looks great!!

Thank you for giving your criticism about my works. I showed the work just want to have a good side. I like the leathercraft because it’s a happy thing and not noly a job.

You can do it. Maybe you forgot to develop you characteristic. Maybe you will use it very fluent just like the pen you use.

Collins MS

Thank you. I like the name of Birds Eye.

I have a website(www.bobocat.tw ), it’s also a chinese forum.

It is provided to my student and the people who also like the leathercraft to discuss.

The works I made before is displayed at the website(http://www.bobocat.tw/thread.php?fid=18).

CLAYB

I like to call sea-taros at the partially opened flower on the bottom left side.

I used number P370 of the pear shader to carve it on the bottom portion of the flower where it wraps around the bud.

I use the number P370 from Japanese ELLE company, because the texture of this tool is fine to do that effect easily.

It can be increased the depth of this flower.

I often use that method to apply to other place to let it have a better vision.

Bobcat,

Your work is excellent. Keep up the great work and keep posting. I have one question. Could you do a tutorial on how you make you trucker wallet. I really like that.

well of course we're joking!!! It's just my way of honoring someone who has obviously mastered floral carving. I continue to practice but have to yet to achieve anything I believe worthy of posting.

...by they way......how is the "birdseye" backgrounding done.......it looks excellent. Is it just 2 different sizes of seeders used to do this or what??

Thanks for the link.

If everyone hasn't checked out his site, you should do so. There are some really great pieces being shown there.
