These are a few things I did lately, and before to discover this forum. You can tell it's a beginner's work but I'm very happy with the results, because basically I didn't now how to proceed, particularly for the canteen cover and the box. The hat band is a simple mistery braid and the tassels are made out of my horse hair. By the way, can anybody explain how to make horsehair tassel to look good? The guitar strap is for my friend Rick and, I'm amazed, the portrait looks like him. I took it from a picture.

Well thanks for looking.

Nice Work!! The figure carving of your friend is really good, figures are tough even for folks that have been tooling leather for a long time. You have a talent for it right off!!

Great beginners work! I would say the best thing to improve on would be Edging, check out the thread on burnishing the edges,I don't see any thing terribly wrong and I am doing some canteens right now, so I know how though they are.Finnish on the edge will make the dif. Good Luck!

Thanks ya'll for your nice encouragements, you're too good, fortunately there's Rayban who is more pragmatic and down to earth!!!!. That's must be the age, I can tell because I'm on my ..ixties too.

One question, what "lol" stands for? English is only my aunt language, my mother tongue being Italian so help me.

Thanks a bunch again and take care

That stuff looks awesome! How did you emboss that basket weave pattern onto the canteen leather? I'd like to see some pictures of that process!
